"Like a fish out of water, the fish in the tank house so out of place my motif comes to me..."

The first part of the project was to look, to experience, to sense and to be aware. With my camera, I visited sights around the Panzerhalle taking images of decay, destruction and squalor.

I began to photograph the reflections in the broken windows around the site. What interested me was what was being reflected back through the glass. The images were shimmering with light as if under water, slightly distorted, abstract and dreamlike.

I began to photograph the photographs, creating layers of images. I work with fish and meat because the represent elements of life. They are the raw resources, life forces.

The photographs are not quite what they seem...
